Services — Packing/Crating
U.S.Art can handle all of your art packing and crating for domestic and international shipping. We are happy to provide estimates ranging from a single object to large exhibitions.
U.S.Art has been a driving force in the establishment of accepted crating procedures and has earned a reputation for building the finest quality crates in the industry. Our packing and crating heritage spans six decades. Beginning in the 1950s, Ellsworth F. Lank Sr. pioneered the modern packing and crating methods used by modern art handlers. Today, U.S.Art incorporates the latest technology, materials and research to produce the best product for your specific needs.
U.S.Art’s crates are designed for structural integrity and are assembled with the care and detail of a fine piece of furniture. The real “art” of crating however, is in the design of the interior of the box. By combining a thorough knowledge of material properties, technology and experience in the field we ensure that our crates protect your objects for the utmost in safety.
Every U.S.Art crate is marked with the IPPC “bug” stamp certifying that it is built to the current ISPM15 regulation (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade). U.S.Art builds all of its crates with treated wood in compliance with the new import/export regulations increasingly prevalent throughout the world and has them approved by a registered inspection agency. U.S.Art crates are fully certified for both domestic and international shipments.
